Stepping Back into the Roaring '20s
Our Great Gatsby-Themed Photo Booth Experience at the Galileo Gardens in Stoney Creek, Ontario.
If there’s one thing we love at The LOL Studio Co., it’s a good theme. And when that theme involves glitz, glamour, and a touch of mischief—count us in! This year, we kicked off the corporate New Year in style with a Great Gatsby-themed photo booth experience, and let’s just say... it was the bee’s knees (because saying “lit” wouldn’t be era-appropriate).
Setting the Scene: Art Deco Elegance Meets LOL Studio Magic
We went full 1920s opulence on this one. Think gold, black, and geometric elegance with a backdrop straight out of a speakeasy (minus the bootlegged liquor). The room was decked out in Art Deco patterns, feathered centerpieces, and more sequins than a Broadway show. For this event, the client opted for their own custom backdrop—a stunning gold metal structure. Naturally, our photo booth had to match the lavish vibes—so we created a setup that made every guest feel like they had just stepped into a F. Scott Fitzgerald novel (minus the existential crises).
Props That Stole the Show
What’s a Gatsby party without over-the-top accessories? We came armed with:
Feather boas & pearl necklaces (because elegance is key)
Faux cigars & flapper headbands (to channel that old-school cool)
Signs that read "A Little Party Never Killed Nobody" (accurate... for the most part)
Money stacks & vintage fashion for the men (because the only thing better than looking rich is pretending to be rich)
Guests went all-in on the theme, and we’re fairly certain some people never returned a few of the props (no judgment, they were fabulous).
Strike a Pose: The Gatsby Effect
From power poses to peak 1920s drama, our guests didn’t hold back:
The flapper-style group poses—because solo pics are so last decade.
The "pretend-you-own-a-mansion" shot, which was highly convincing.
Our Gatsby Glam filter took things up a notch, adding a soft-focus Hollywood glow to every capture—because nothing says luxury like a bit of camera magic. The client opted to have the glam filter as well, and of course, that was a major hit!
The Aftermath: A Social Media Frenzy
The second those photos hit the screen, phones were out, this event probably had the most number of people request to have their photo booth capture printed, someone even wanted their boomerang printed…errr….We saw posts like:
"Not saying I belong in the 1920s, but LOOK AT ME. #Roaring20s #LOLStudioCo"
